Happy Groundhog Day, Valentine's Day, President's Day, Ash Wednesday... February at Ladybug’s brings some “sweet” classes. Carol Gates’ Quilting with Carol series is booming and we are already scheduling our third series of classes! The Pillow Project begins this month as well. Rose is offering an appliqué class along with the Strip Club this month. Laura Miller offers an evening and a daytime two session class for the Splitting Image quilt. Make sure to check our classes and club website page regularly for the descriptions to find one or two to suit your interest and come join us. You’ll be glad you did! Ladybug’s Cottage has some wonderful events planned this month, so you’re invited to check our calendar schedule frequently to make sure you don’t miss anything you wanted to participate in. We try to keep it updated with 4 to 6 weeks of activities. The Sit & Sew Club meeting every Tuesday morning seems to have made a bit hit. There’s always room for more so please join us! Valentine’s Day falls on our second meeting this month and I thought it might be a good time to honor my biggest helper, Rose, with a baby shower or as they are titled these days, a Sprinkle! If you are so inclined, please join us and help fill the cradle with small gifts for baby Eliza Claire (delivery date March 26). There is still a few spots available for our Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival road trip to Hampton, VA on Sunday, February 26. Our fee will combine the show admission ticket ($12) and the cost of transportation which is based on the number in our group and the size vehicle needed. The total cost should not be more than $50. The fee will need to be paid no later than Tuesday, February 14. We will be leaving Ladybug’s Cottage at 7 am. The complete details will be finalized very soon. Ladybug’s 2012 Challenge is off to a slow start but I’m sure it will pick up soon. Make sure to check our Challenge page to see projects we are focusing on. At present, we continue to participate in the pillowcase challenge and to collect lap quilts. Workshops may be scheduled for the future if we have enough request for them to get pillowcases and/or lap quilts put together. We have an offer to have the quilting done free of charge if we supply the top, batting and backing. Thanks Chris!
